I’m not a fan of Ashlee Simpson, but I love watching her hairstyle changes. If I was a super rich celeb, that’s what I’d do too. Mile long red extensions one week, platinum pixie the next. Why not.
Ashleeeeeeee was recently spotted leaving Andy Lecompte Salon in West Hollywood with a fresh cut and hair color taking her previous style, which she did this fall, even shorter and lighter. I really love this pixie cut–it’s well executed and the proportions are totally right. And the so-blonde-it’s-almost-white color really works with this cut. I kind of love it! But what do you guys think…
Do you like Ashlee Simpson’s platinum pixie?
I seriously love pixies, and I tend to like Ashleeeee better with shorter hair.I especially LOVE the color.I am still going back and forth with taking the pixie plunge and when I see pics like these it helps me to make up my mind.
Chelsea: when I see pictures of super cute, super short hair, I want to cut all my hair off too. Just because it looks so fun and freeing to have no hair to deal with, although I’m sure you have to style hair that short. And you’d have to constantly dress cute, ala Karla from Karla’s Closet: http://www.haironthebrain.com/?s=karla%27s+closet
It’s hard to tell how this style looks as it’s overpowered by the huge sunglasses. I do love that she takes chances and doesn’t look the same as all the other “twenty-somethings”.
Patricia: I think her cool girl styling is helping–I guess I should imagine what this cut would look like in pjs washing your face before bed too. I agree that it’s just nice to see somethin different than the “sea of scaggly extensions” (TM Lana B).
I really like it! However, while I love the color, it makes her hair look thinner that it is, which I am never a fan of. She doesn’t quite need that Joan Rivers spray hair, but she should be on watch. This is the kind of cut I would love to have if I didn’t have thick hair. I’m digging it!
Gouldylox: I think it’s tough to have hair this light and not have it look a little fine/thin? If you’re a pale person, it starts to match your scalp. I feel her here because I also have super fine hair. It sucks! I even you and all your hair, Gouldylox!
I’m not loving the color but whatever.
Love it! But I also, rather cheesily, love her and all her fashion choices, so perhaps I’m bias. I love when celebs rock pixie cuts though, I think it’s more fun and refreshing in the sea of scraggly extensions.
Lana B: “A Sea of Scaggly Extensions” would be a great post title. Can I use that? It’d also be a great title for a memoir by Britney Spears…
i dig it. i like the super blonde too…can’t have half way with those cuts
lizzie: totally. that’s what works about it, I think. she went for it!
Ha, yes I give you permission to use that phrase with impunity! I hope you do make a post with that title, it would be funny!
Lana B: Thanks! I will give you a writer’s credit. : )
So,I love Karla Deras ( Always have). Her effortless style and classic beauty really just pull on my heart strings. I think I could make the pixie work, I have in the past, but more so now since I have my Mason Pearson brush to help.:) I have been trying to dress a little more femme lately so maybe that would help me not to look like a little boy when I do cut my hair :).Karla is definately an inspiration for short haired short girls! I LOVE Emma Watson’s hair as well.Let’s set a date to cut our hair and just DO IT ALREADY!
OH MY GEE! I just read Ashlee filed for divorce! I’m so sad. Do you think that makes this breakup hair? Seriously though, I’m bummed, her and Pete were totally cute.
Her hair looks green and messy, but not the cute-kind of messsy. And it makes her look like an old (crazy) auntie…
