While everyone else speculates on the status of Drew Barrymore and Justin Long’s rela after the London premiere of their new film Going the Distance, but I am far more interested in her hair.
It’s kinda beachy, kinda rock ‘n roll, kinda hippie. As a beauty blogger, I am suppose to describe Drew’s color as “ombre“. But when is it ombre and when is it just rich people paying $500+ for Anna Nicole’s cousin style roots?
But I kid! I love Drew. How can you not? She’s hot.
And pretty-pretty-princess style adorable!
Note the braids…
And the shoes! (hi Darren. xxo.)
Please tell me, what do you guys think of Drew’s hair?
Love your blog!!
Love Drews hair, but not the color… Do you know who designed her dress?
Thank you Karoline! About Drew’s dress, I read that it was Alexander McQueen! Le sigh. And the amazingballs studded belt is Balmain… And the nude platform pumps are Yves Saint Laurent.
She’s one lucky betch. 😉
HA you and I are too much alike. the hair is LOVE!! and the shoes are even more LOOOOOOOOOVE!!
anna lee: hey girl! I owe you an email! We are both too busy. 🙂 I will do it though!! And yes, those shoeeesss. I really want them and they were one of the main reasons for this whole post! Want!
Not the most successful ombre I’ve seen – it’s more like half and half. And I’m a big fan of ombre! But, I do really like the color of her roots, and I like the messy curls with random braids.
Amy: It is a little more half & half, yes. I like the messy curls. Not so much the random braids…
She is so adorable, and has survived in Hollywood all her life, so she gets points just for that, if nothing else. But I don’t love the hair. I hate this ombre trend, it’s just grown out roots, and it’s a little too messy – not so much “beachy” as “styled with a leaf blower”.
Chris: I agree! Drew gets major points for being such an amazing woman in Hollywood and surviving the child star thing. 🙂 And while I don’t totally love her hair right now, it’s a little too messy for me, I think it’s a half step away from right on.
I love Drew and she is looking for fit these days, but I have to say the hair is the worst!
She looks better than I have ever seen her look. I think the hair works. It’s nice to see her roots the natural color. The light blond is fun and beachy. I think it’s works! I’m sure her ends are fried…oh well! She could add a bit of coconut oil to them.
It just looks like grown out roots to me. I can’t like it, it looks like she tortured her hair with too much dye and let it go natural to recover. Which is great that she’s letting it get healthy, if that’s what she’s doing, but she should have the ends at least within natural highlight range. I do like the wavy texture she’s got going on.
they told us months and months ago in a paul mitchell color class that i attended that this trend was coming and i didn’t believe them. i didn’t understand why clients would want me to color their hair to make it look like they hadn’t colored their hair in months buuuut, the trend has arrived! and i have done it a few times in the salon though it’s definitely not the most requested. i think i’m starting to dig it a little bit.
Kelsi: it’s weird how trends like this grow on ya… I agree.
I like it ON HER because she has the kind of kooky, bohemian personnality that pulls off “crazy” stuff fashionwise and hairwise.
gi: she does have her own style! stuff works on her. still drooling over this outfit though. this would work on me too!! 😉
Yes, the outfit is more conventionnal so to speak and would work on other women, that’s where the crazy hair comes in to add this rebell touch à la Drew :-).
gi: totally true. very drew. 😉
Thank you!! Love her whole outfit! Wish it was me…
Once again; thank you so much for the best blog!
Love from Norway 🙂
Karoline: I love your name. So cool with the K spelling… 🙂 And thank you for the compliment! I LOVE Drew’s outfit too. It’s amazing and I would wear every piece. So great.
How do you messy hair like this? Love the beachy look!
HAHA to paying $500 for Anna Nicole’s cousins roots– that cracked me right up and its true! I try and tell all of my clients about this and quite a few are excited and some are like, “ummmm why would i want roots that long when i can’t stand roots a 1/4″ long?” Guess I’m the only one in Michigan that knows trends, lol.
I really don’t like her makeup in the green dress pics but the hair and the shoes… OMG and the pic of her in the jeans.. dayum!
