Intelligent Nutrients. Bottoms Up!

It’s the Friday before a long holiday weekend (happy Fourth of July!) so what better time to make mixed drinks out of your hair products? No, seriously. The new, entirely organic, non-toxic line Intelligent Nutrients is literally so good (and so good for you) that you can eat it! Or, ya know, make champagne cocktails with it! Which is exactly what my crazy ladies at Lock & Mane did. They’re so dedicated to making sure their products are of the highest quality, they will make mixed drinks using hairspray! Behold:

Intelligent Nutrients was created by Horst Rechelbacher, the founder of Aveda. He says of the new line, “It is based on using only certified organic food-derived ingredients–substances the body recognises and readily assimilates as nutrients in the body. At Intelligent Nutrients, each product is formulated for both performance and safety–our belief is that what we put on our bodies should be as safe as what goes into our bodies.” Intelligent Nutrients also uses post-consumer recycled packaging. It’s totally a product you can feel good about buying, using, and um. Drinking.  😉

I tested out a sample of Intelligent Nutrients Harmonic Shampoo and Conditioner. The shampoo works on all hair types and can also be used an an anti-aging face wash, for shaving, and as a total body cleanser. So multi-purpose! As a shampoo, it’s very invigorating, which is nice in the morning. It gets rid of build-up but does not strip hair. And of course, it is free of sulfates, parabens, silicones, ethoxylates, PEG, phthalates, and synthetic fragrances. The conditioner is perfect for everyday use, full of antioxidants, volumizing, nourishing, non-toxic, and color safe. It’s also formulated without sulfates, parabens, silicones, ethoxylates, PEG, phthalates, and synthetic fragrances. It’s lightweight but still leaves hair conditioned, which is exactly what I am looking for in a conditioner. I hate ones that are too heavy or leave my hair feeling stripped. Harmonic Conditioner strikes a perfect balance. Shampoo price: $22.00. Conditioner price: $24.00

Intelligent-Nutrients-Perfect-Hold-Hair-Spray-OrganicIntelligent Nutrients Perfect Hold Hair Spray is the stuff used in the video cocktail (just in case you’re running low on mixers this weekend.) It provides a nice, natural, not stiff hold. Clearly, it is make with nutritious food ingredients! It’s non-toxic, free of plastics, parabens, and petro-chemicals. it’s good for color-treated hair or people with extensions.  Price: $29.00

Lastly, I tried out Intelligent Nutrients Hair and Scalp Treatment Oil. This stuff provides immediate relief for dry and damaged hair and irritated scalp. It restores luster and smooths and softens the hair’s cuticle. It is certified organic by the UK’s Soil Association and contains no petrochemicals that are often added to conditioner to help them slide easily through the hair. It is plant-based and uses Oatmeal and other non-toxic plant emollients like Jojoba, coffee, and palm kernel oils. Intellimune Seed Oil Complex to add softness and sheen, reduce frizz, and help detangle.  Price: $34.00
