As is much discussed on Hair On The Brain, I love dry shampoo. As someone who does not like to shampoo every single day, it’s imperative. But so far, I’ve only found powder formulas to be effective, like Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Dry Shampoo or Oscar Blandi’s Pronto Dry. The spray ones, like Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo Spray have been a major fail. But now I found one that I love! And best of all? It’s cheap! Yay.
Batiste Dry Shampoo is new to the US, but it’s been a major deal in the UK since the 70’s. In fact, it’s the #1 dry shampoo brand in the UK. It works really well to absorb oil, dirt and grease. Plus, it’s great for hair styling when you need to add immediate texture and lift to hair. This stuff is perfect for post-gym hair, when you’re running late in the morning, for an after work pick me up, or on those days when you just do not shampoo your hair.
To use, just shake the can really well, spray in short bursts toward your roots, and massage in with your fine. You can brush it through your hair or not. (The directions say to, but I didn’t, and it turned out fine.) I’ve been using this stuff every other day and it’s a lifesaver. Some hair powders just soak up oil when you first put it in, but this stuff really lasts. Also, it doesn’t leave a white cast on your hair. It comes in two scents: Original, which is a light powdery fragrance and Blush, which is a more girly and fruity sent. I liked Blush the best. I am very impressed with Batiste Dry Shampoo, and when my sample runs out, I’ll be purchasing more. You can purchase it at Ulta, Sally Beauty Supply, and Duane Reade. Price: $7.99
