Elta MD UV Physical SPF 41

I shudder to think of the countless hours I spent baking in the sun at my grandparent’s pool during high school. My grandpa would always ask me if I had sunscreen on, since he’d had skin cancer. I would always lie and say yes when all I had on was some Hawaiian Tropic oil with an SPF of like 3. I was a shithead. I’ve learned. I really try to use sunscreen on my face daily, and I don’t lay out in the sun anymore. However, finding the right sunscreen is complicated and confusing. UVA? SPF? Physical? Chemical? Photostable? And a lot of them break out my sensitive skin.

I recommend skipping though it all and just finding a recommended high quality sunscreen and wearing it daily. After reading enough sunscreen research to make your head spin. I finally found a product I really love: Elta MD UV Physical SPF 41. It uses the natural sun blocking properties of zinc oxide and titanium dioxide to protect the skin from UVA and UVB rays, and it provides chemical-free, natural mineral UV protection. My skin tolerates it well because it’s oil-free, paraben-free, and fragrance free. It also contains antioxidants to neutralize free radicals and help prevent sun damage. Elta MD UV Physical absorbs immediately into the skin and leaves skin matte, not oily like so many other sunscreens I’ve tried. It also has a nice light tint to it, which works perfectly on my skin. This is great because it evens out my skin tone and doesn’t leave that sunscreeny white cast on my face. EltaMD UV Physical is water resistant, which is great if you’re wearing this to the beach or pool, but you need to be sure to thoroughly cleans your face at the end of the day to remove it. Another major plus is that it’s photostable, which means it does not break down in sunlight like some sunscreens. However, it is still important to reapply any sunscreen every two to three hours o maintain protection if you are in direct sunlight.

Overall, I give EltaMD UV Physical SPF 41 an enthusiastic two thumbs up! It has everything I want in a sunscreen! Price: $27.00
