It’s Friday night… Ah, the exciting life of a beauty blogger! Siting home testing some lip gloss, and I’m about to test something I’m pretty excited about–something I spent a big chunk of change on! Well, kind of. Half of it was purchased with a Sephora gift certificate, which has been burning a hole in my pocket since my birthday waaay back in December. (Thanks, mom!) I finally bought the Clarisonic Mia.
I’m trying to remember how my obsession with the Clarisonic started. I think it was when I read this bomb-ass post from This That Beauty about her skincare regimen. She recommended the Clarisonic–in fact she said it was a miracle and that it saves lives. Then I dug around and read a few other reviews, like my girl Amber’s post over on Beauty Junkies Unite. I realized, hmm, people love this Clarisonic thing. Where have I been? Apparently, everyone found out about it when Oprah declared it one of her Favorite Things. And you know what that means: utter pandemonium.
The Clarisonic Classic will run you $195.00, which… Wow. Is it going to clean my floors, too? Cheap me opted for the Clarisonic Mia, which is pretty much the same thing only in a smaller size and only offers one speed instead of two, but it’s slightly cheaper at $149.00. And that’s where the gift certificate came in handy. Honestly, if I had to pay for the whole thing myself, I think I’d have skipped it. That’s a lot of cash. But I am curious to try it out. So, I’ll be reporting back on the little Clarisonic Mia and will write a full review in a week or so to let you know what I think.
In the meantime, have any of you tried the Clarisonic? And if so, what do you think?
Good luck with Mia 🙂
Felicia: Thanks! You inspired me. 🙂
I bought Mia in November, and have been using it regularly ever since. I *love* it.
I think it just gets me in the routine of washing my face thoroughly, but gently. Whereas before I might just splash some water on my face and be done with it, or use too much soap and dry my skin out.
I picked the Mia over the Classic for the same reasons as you. (Gaah!) On the other hand, it is cheaper than getting a couple of facials. (Not that I ever spent money on those, either.)
It was the best expensive beauty investment I made.
Ooh Sarah, good to hear! Thank you for leaving this comment. I think I had been a little lazy about how well I was cleansing too… shame on me. I’ve been stepping up my skin care game recently and the Clarisonic is part of that. I will write more about the other aspects on HOTB too. 🙂
I have the original Clarisonic (got it with a 20% off coupon somewhere) and have been using it for a few years – and love it. My mom has the newer, two speed Clarisonic and I actually prefer it, but as it’s such an investment I’ll be running my current model into the ground before getting another. Hope you like yours! A Mia would be nice for travel.
