Nina Dobrev from The Vampire Diaries attended a “Love Bites” dinner and after party thrown by NYLON and Armani Exchange to celebrate the cast’s February NYLON cover at 675 Bar in NYC (Jan. 30). Nina’s long, wavy hair is super pretty. Miley Cyrus should take note that this is how you do long hair (with possibly extension) without it looking so crazy obvious.
Anyway. Do any of you guys watch The Vampire Diaries? Is it any good or is it just a Twilight ripoff? The cast is really good looking. In particular, Ian Somerhalder (left). He’s going to be on Lost this season too. Which starts tonight! Paul Wesley (right) looks like a vampire, so good casting there.
Me! Me! Me! I am a huge “Vampire Diaries” fan. It started when I read the books about 18 years ago. (Yes, I am old.) I was leery of the show, thinking it would be cheesy, but it’s better than I expected. I give all the credit to Ian Somerhalder, who is ridiculously hot and plays the character of Damon perfectly. I find it’s characters and story lines much more interesting than Twilight. And it was around long before Stephanie Meyers wrote her books, so there. 🙂
Chris: I had no idea the books had been around that long. ? That’s interesting… Also, I read the first book in the Twilight series and let’s just say I was, um, not that into it. But I’m really picky when it comes to books.
I COMPLETELY agree with chris although i am a lot younger than he is.. i only started reading books when i was 12 which was 5 years ago. but a lot of times, i wonder if stephanie meyer’s books are a rip off of vampire diaries! Althoughh the plot is completely different 🙂
Nora: interesting! I’m curious about these books now. they for teens like Twilight, I assume?
Valerie, the original trilogy is young adult fiction published in 1991. They are written in a totally different style than Twilight. I like them much better than the Twilight series.
BTW Nora, I’m a ‘she’, but the way I spell Chris, I get that all the time. But I’m sure there are plenty of boys crushing on Ian Somerhalder, too. 🙂
Chris: I was going to correct Nora about your gender but I got sidetracked. It’s been one of those days! I bet you do get that a lot, though. 😉 And you’re totally right about Ian. He’s a gender neutral crush. Pretty enough for everyone!
I actually love the Vampire Diaries. I thought it was going to suck so i didn’t start watching it until after like 6 episodes had already aired. But, It’s much better than Twilight in my opinion. It stays true to alot of the traditional Vamp folklore (burning to a crisp in the sun, crosses, stakes, how one becomes a vampire, etc. Very Anne Rice.) and the acting is surprisingly good. The characters are interesting too. I actually went to high-school with the girl who plays Caroline. lol.
kailey: interesting! I will have to check it out. 🙂
