How To: Last Minute Holiday Hair!

It’s serious holiday party time. Hanukah started on Friday, Christmas is only 11 days away, and 2010 is just around the corner. Holiday parties are in full swing, and if you’re like most gals, you’re looking for quick tips for at-home styling. Check these out; you’ll look holiday (or red carpet) ready in no time!

Pump Up the Volume: Use the laws of gravity to pump up the volume, like Jessica Alba’s sexy ‘do. Add Samy Volumizing Mousse for texture, then flip hair upside down and massage the scalp in circular motions while blow-drying the roots on a warm or cool setting (using the hottest setting flattens the hair shaft). When dry, flip hair back over and go!

Pick a Side: From shoulder baring dresses to half pinned hair, asymmetrical is hot. Create a side part and pin one side up with a jewel clip or a few brightly colored bobby pins, like Jessica Lowndes—this adds instant sexiness and emphasis to the cheekbones. Enhance natural waves or curls with Samy Big Curls Defining Crème for a glamorous old Hollywood look.

Put a Braid on It: Headbands are hot on the red carpet and the runway—go Grecian goddess, like Sienna Miller did, by tying hair into a chignon and topping off the style with a faux braid-band. Match it up with your hair color or have some fun with it by choosing a contrasting color. Use Samy Fat Hair Amplifying Hairspray to hold the look in place.

Jeweled Headbands: No need to spend a fortune on the latest bejeweled head-pieces —D.I.Y. instead! Create gorgeous headbands like Natalie Portman by accessorize a drugstore headband with clip-on earrings from Claire’s or beads from a bead store. Your friends will think you have every hot hair-ccessory of the season.
