My birthday is in 12 days, so I’m posting this for myself as a little gift-in-advance. Red hair is my favorite. Always. I’m a redhead at heart, even though these days I’m a mix of red, blonde, brown. Red on the brain. 4eva.
You guys, I really want to dye my hair again. I’m trying to stay off the chemicals and grow out the last bits of remaining permanent hair color (although it’s mostly faded out or been cut out at this point) and just rock my natural color. But seeing all these reds, makes me want to dye my hair red-red again. But it’s really the most difficult shade to color your hair… LE SIGH. Then again, if I was posting about short cuts, I’d probably want to cut all my hair off, right?
More redheads after the break.
Heart. Red red looks horrible on me though *sigh*. Maybe I could try one more time….
Desiree, I am about to post something I found about picking the right shade of red. Maybe it will help. Supposedly there is a red for everyone! I would like to believe that. hee.
There is something very seductive about red hair. I have colored mine red multiple times, but even permanent color washes out fast on me. I still believe that certain girls (me! me!) will always want whatever type of hair they don’t have. It’s like a craving. Happy Birthday-Soon!
Chris: Red is so hard to keep in your hair… and yeah, I feel you on the “grass is always greener” thing. Human nature, I guess. I am working on trying to be more at peace and thankful for what I’ve got. Tis the season! 😉
I LOVE red hair. It my favorite hair color too. I used to dye my hair with permanent hair dye, but then I got tired of having to touch up the roots so often, so I went to back to my natural (sort of) color.
But after a while (and mostly due to seeing pictures like the ones above) I started missing red too much. So now I use demi-permanent hair dye and I have kind of an auburn shade that looks pretty natural and I don’t have to touch up the roots because they blend in as the rest of the hair color fades. Demi-permanent hair dyes are supposed to last up to 28 washes, and if you don’t wash your hair too often, that’s a pretty long time.
This is what my color looks like more than a month after dyeing it.

Go back to red, as a birthday present to yourself! 🙂
Leila, your hair color is pretty!!
Oh me too. I love red, and every time I see a girl with long red natural hair I want to go right to the salon. But I’m trying to go back to natural (and I’m nearly there) so I’m trying to resist and remind myself how quickly it fades. My fiance has red hair and sometimes I tease him by hinting that the only reason I’m with him is the chance of red-headed babies. 😉
Amy, aw! I would have loved to have a redhead baby too, but I foiled that plan by agreeing to marry a man with dark hair. 😉
I want to be a agent.
Thanks,
Malek
really your hair is so pretty ! I like it so much .
Hiyo!
So, this doesnt go for staying with natural color, but as for natural DYE, I just used Henna on my hair to get a beautiful natural bright red. The best part is, its good for your hair and all natural! Just putting it out there.:)
I’m a dyed red-head and I love it. Best choice I’ve made. It’s so much fun, especially as my natural hair colour is an ashy-brown colour.
I’m lucky that red looks good on me, as my hair doesn’t have any red undertones.
