fashion, model's hair

New York Fashion Week Runway Report

As you all know, it’s Fashion Week in New York. let’s see what’s going on with the hair, shall we?

Braids were major with Alexander Wang’s Spring/Summer 2010. He showed this thick, semi-undone side-braid on every model. I dug the hair, but the makeup was too understated, I thought. And overall I was not feeling the collection. I kinda picked the best look to post, so check out the rest and tell me what you think…

Nicole Miller Spring/Summer 2010 showed all her models with sleek, slicked back hair. The hair worked really well with the clothes–very minimal and modern. Some of the pieces of this collection I totally loved–others, not so much.

Jason Wu Spring/Summer 2010 collection was full of party dresses. The model’s hair was slicked back into buns and topped off with elaborate black mesh hat/bows… The flashy background of the runway makes it kind of difficult to see what’s going on, but they’re pretty cool looking. This collection was fun & I’m dying to see Michelle Obama in one of these short little numbers! (She wore a Jason Wu design to the inaugural ball this year.)

Rag & Bone showed a lot of undone (sometimes greasy!) hair. If it was long, the hair was styled half up and half down. The overall look was super casual. I didn’t like this styling very much and thought it detracted from the clothes.

There is more to come!!
