“I had long, pretty hair, and it didn’t fit me. I’m pretty, but I’m not, like, a ‘pretty girl.’ So I pulled up a bunch of photos of Joan Jett and said, ‘Do that to my hair.’ There was a distinct change in my wardrobe, too, and I know people were a little, um, taken aback. But it wasn’t me that changed—it was just that I decided to start being myself. Now I do my own makeup, my own hair, and dress myself, and it feels better.”
– Taylor Momsen to Teen Vogue
Eek, she’s a mess! I remember her in the first episodes of GG. And what is she, 15?
She’s 16 now, Audrey, that picture is from her performing with her band, The Pretty Reckless, at her 16th birthday party.
Another good quote from the Teen Vogue article, this one about how she wouldn’t date someone her own age: “Boys are so much less mature than girls as it is; there’s just no way, I would eat a boy my age alive.”
Hee.
Oh she’ll be so disappointed, I’m dating an older man and chronological age does a whole lot of nothing for maturity level!
Also, I generally really love the dirty hair look… but she looks like she needs to at least give it a wash thurrr.
Alyssa, men are a little slower to mature, right? She’ll figure it out… And maybe figure out that washing your hair is a good idea once in a while too. 😉
Erm… It does look washed. It’s just that’s the style. I like it, I like her. She does dress a lot older than her age though, reminds me of my 16 year old sister who looks amazing in everything, and looks older than me 24/7. I’m 20 :S.
